Pune: A woman clerk of Public Works Department has been booked for allegedly abetting suicide of a male colleague by harassing him for various works.

Deceased Ashok Ramesh Kamble’s wife Amrita (29) has lodged an FIR against the senior woman clerk at Chinchwad police station. Junior clerk Kamble committed suicide on Sunday morning in his house in Walhekarwadi.

“My husband was working in the office of PWD since 2015. The woman used to get her work done from my husband who was a junior clerk and in case of any mistake, she used to insult him in front of other staff on regular basis. She had been harassing him,” Amrita stated in her complaint.

The Chinchwad police have booked the accused for offence under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.
