Col Babu will be remembered for his selfless service & resolute courage: NDA

Pune: Late Colonel B Santosh Babu who was the Commanding Officer (OC) at 16 Bihar, as well as the Alumnus of 105 course at National Defence Academy based in Pune, attained martyrdom during the clash with Chinese troops at Galwan Valley of Eastern Ladakh, this week.

Col Babu had undaunted courage, leadership and commitment during the unprecedented scenario, and is now the trademark of an ex-NDA officer, claimed an officer at NDA.

Martyr Col Babu's name was inscribed in gold with full military honours on the sacred walls in the Hut of Remembrance, which added him to the elite league of ‘ex-NDA Brave Hearts’.

On Saturday at the NDA campus, a wreath-laying ceremony was organised wherein Commandant NDA, Lt Gen Asit Mistry, AVSM, SM, VSM laid a wreath on behalf of all officers and cadets of NDA and the ex- NDA fraternity.

The NDA fraternity fondly remembers how Col Babu has lived up to the rich traditions of the Academy. Col Babu, who has also been an instructor at NDA for one year between July 2010 and December 2011, will be remembered by the academy for his selfless service, devotion to duty and resolute courage.
