Pune: Officials of the Bharati Vidyapeeth police have arrested Sachin Nevre for the murder of 40-year-old Gajraj Rajput whose body was found  on the second floor of a partially constructed building in Ambegaon on July 21.

According to the Bharati Vidyapeeth police, Gajraj was strangulated to death. During their investigation, the police found that Sachin, Gajraj and Phulandevi Thakur (45) were staying in a room in the building.

According to Police Inspectors Kamlakar Takawale and Rajkumar Wagchavre of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station, Sachin was in love with Phulandevi and Gajraj was troubling her for a past few days.

On July 22, Sachin told Phulandevi that he had killed Gajraj and asked her to go to her native place. As Phulan was unwell, she could not go to her native place.

Police Sub-Inspector Shivdas Gaikwad then found that Sachin was in contact with Phulandevi who was staying in Omsainagar. The police then laid a trap and nabbed Sachin on Monday. The Bharati Vidyapeeth police are further investigating the case.
