Cops nab 2, recover stolen booty worth around Rs 10L

PUNE: Officials from the Hadapsar police station have arrested two accused persons and detained a minor boy in theft cases and claimed to have recovered stolen booty worth Rs 10.15 lakh.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ajay Mahendra Shinde (23) of Ramtekdi and Chhotelal Ramdulre Gupta (38) of Vaidwadi, Hadapsar.

DCP (zone 5) Prakash Gaikwad said that police have recovered one car, five bikes, 40 mobile phones, Rs 15,000 cash, 40 gram gold ornaments, a camera, a laptop, totally worth Rs 10.15 lakh, from the possession of the accused persons.

Senior Police Inspector Sunil Tambe, in-charge of Hadapsar police station, said that PSI Mahesh Bhange and constable Nitin Mundhe had received information about Shinde, who was roaming around in a stolen car. Accordingly, a watch was kept on him and he was arrested. Later, his two accomplices were also caught.

The accused persons were produced before the Pune Cantonment court which has remanded them to three-day police custody.
