Coronavirus Maharashtra: Southern Command assures full support to fight against the pandemic

Pune: The representative of Southern Command met the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra in Mumbai on Friday and discussed various aspects for ensuring a coordinated response and latest developments in the state were discussed. Maharashtra is the worst affected state in India, reporting 156 positive cases, out of which twenty are from Pune.

Southern Command has assured its full support to the civil administration in these testing times and the chief secretary in response has conveyed that the state is very well geared up to tackle the fight against COVID-19 and also handle any law and order situation arising due to lockdown. 

It is further confirmed that the Army has not received any requisition for deployment and as per inputs received from the Chief Secretary, the same is not envisaged at this stage.
