Pune: Officials of the district health department informed that 35 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported within 12 hours (till Wednesday morning) taking the total number of positive cases in Pune district to 3,169.
While no new deaths were reported till Wednesday morning, the total death count of COVID-19 positive persons stood at 168 till date in the district.
Earlier on Tuesday, officials of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had shared that seven COVID-19 positive patients had died on Tuesday, taking the total COVID 19 deaths in Pune city to 156, while 164 new positive cases of COVID 19 were reported in Pune city taking the total to 2,737.
Officials said that over 120 positive patients were discharged after recovery taking the total of patients recovered to 1,209 so far.

Meanwhile, the graph of coronavirus cases in the state has not flattened yet. For the second time in 48 hours, Maharashtra on Tuesday recorded 53 new coronavirus deaths, after touching the same figures on Sunday, with the number of positive cases crossing 24,000-mark, health officials said.
With 53 mortalities, the State’s death toll shot up from Monday’s 868 to 921 on Tuesday while the total number of COVID-19 cases tallied to 24,427, a jump of 1,026 fresh cases.
On the positive side, 39 cured patients returned home on Tuesday, taking the number of those discharged to 5,125 till date, which is a very encouraging sign, said Rajesh Tope, State’s Health Minister. Also, nearly 13,000 teams have carried out a survey of a population of around 54.9 lakh in the State till date.
