Pune: The Corps of Signals of the Indian Army is going to celebrate its 107th Raising Day on Thursday here at Southern Command. 

The Raising Day will be celebrated by the Signal units in the Command with Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, Other Ranks and their families. The army veterans are also invited to attend.

The aim of the Corps of Signals is to make the Indian Army a Network Centric Force. Since its inception on February 15, 1911, Corps of Signals has gone through evolution in communication technology. Today, the Corps is well poised to exploit state-of-the art communication techniques for meeting the requirements of the 21st  Century.

The Corps shoulders the responsibility of providing the Indian Army with peace time static communication as well as combat communication during operations. The Corps of Signals has established a nation-wide Army owned network to provide reliable real time communication, true to their motto 'Teevra Chaukas' meaning 'Swift and Sure'.

To celebrate the occasion, functions will be organised in all Signals units. Lt Gen DR Soni, Param Vishist Seva Medal, Vishist Seva Medal, Aide-De-Camp, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command  has  conveyed his best wishes to serving and retired personnel of Corps of Signals and lauded them for their selfless contribution towards nation  building.
