Pune: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Rs 94.42 crore cyber theft from the Cosmos Bank has found out that the cash was withdrawn from different ATM machines in Mumbai, Kolhapur, Pune and Indore.

DCP, Economic Offences Wing and Cyber Crime, Jyoti Priya Singh said that SIT has collected about 50 per cent information from the Cosmos Bank and is in process of getting more details in the case.

Brijesh Singh, Maharashtra Police Cyber Crime Investigation Head, said that police have started the recovery process from people accidentally benefited through bank transactions of August 11 and 13. “We are in process of identifying such account holders. However, we have to check whether these transactions were real as the transaction was carried out by the proxy switch,” added Singh.
