COVID-19 Pune: Police department reports more than 1000 infected policemen and seven employees dead

Pune: The growing number of Coronavirus patients in Pune is a matter of concern to the administration. In the Pune city police department, as many as 1,112 people are suffering from coronavirus and seven employees have died due to it, informed Pune city police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.

Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta said that "for the last seven months, every officer and staff of the police department has been working day and night shielding the city from this pandemic situation as well as handling the law and order issue. The police are available to serve every citizen. But in the meantime, 1,112 police officers and staff have been affected. So far seven people have died while undergoing treatment."

He said, "At present, 157 people are undergoing treatment. With keeping all of this in mind, we have worked to take care of employee health from the very beginning edge in the light of increasing infection. The bed is reserved for the police. We are also working to communicate with the affected employees and their families to assist and aid for the support of all the employees."
