DES to open new centre for higher learning in AP

Pune: Deccan Education Society (DES) is all set to inaugurate its new Fergusson Centre for Higher Learning at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh on March 1.

The officials of DES announced at a press meet that this centre will be hosting four courses, namely, one-year course on industrial safety, six-month course on bioinformatics, six-month course on food analysis and testing, and a three-month course on 
web designing. 

The intake capacity for each course will be 20 students. 

The courses will be affiliated to Sri Padmavati Mahila University.
The construction of the first phase of the centre was started in 2012, which was completed in 2017.

The inauguration of the centre will be done by Union Minister of State for Human Resource and Development Satyapal Singh. 

This will be followed by the bhumi pujan for the construction of the second phase, which will include residential quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff, hostel and mess facility for boys and girls.
