ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pankaj Deshmukh, ex- Superintendent of Police (SP), Satara, took charge of the traffic branch of Pune city police on Friday. Deshmukh replaced Tejaswi Satpute, who is now the Satara SP.

Satpute’s transfer took place just six months after she was posted as in charge of the city’s traffic department. Six of her immediate predecessors posted as DCP (Traffic) in Pune had also met the same fate as her. Before her, Vishwas Pandhare, Sarang Awad, Pravin Munde, Kalpana Barawkar, Pravin Mundhe and Ashok Morale served from June 2014 to October 2018. Before these seven, two other DCPs, Manoj Patil and Vishwas Pandhare, had served for a full term.
