Pune, 29 October 2025: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the logo, mascot, and kit of the upcoming ‘Pune Grand Tour’ international cycling competition at a ceremony in Pune. The event, scheduled for January 2026, will feature a 437-kilometre race across the beautiful Sahyadri ranges.
Speaking at the launch, Fadnavis said the ‘Pune Grand Tour’ is more than just a sporting event, it represents Maharashtra’s technological progress, health consciousness, and unity. He noted that the state is preparing to host world-class competitions on the scale of the Olympics, with this cycling tour marking an important milestone in that journey.
The race aims to encourage youth towards fitness and eco-friendly mobility while promoting rural tourism and supporting local economies. The initiative is expected to create nearly 10,000 jobs and strengthen Pune’s cycling culture by improving infrastructure and awareness.
Fadnavis also congratulated the Pune district administration for its innovative leadership, calling the event a strong step toward integrating sports, environment, and economic development in Maharashtra.
