EC officials get class on EVMs

PUNE: The State election department recently organised a two-day workshop on Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines for officials in view of the upcoming elections of 2019.

As per information shared by Deputy Election Officer Monika Singh, the officials were informed about the use of EVMs, VVPAT machines, methodology of voting and preparations at polling booths. They were also told about arrangements made for physically and visually challenged voters. 

The workshop was held at Yashada in Baner on September 4 and 5. “The officials were also informed about Electoral Literacy Club, which helps in spreading information about elections in schools and colleges,” added Singh.
