Eight arrested for extorting money from dairy owner

Pune: Eight men were arrested by the Kondhwa police on Monday for extorting money from a dairy owner.

Prime accused Rohan Salunkhe (31), a resident of Urali-Kanhcan and seven others extorted Rs 35,000 from the victim after threatening to kill him on Saturday.

According to the police, the accused barged into the complainant's dairy and demanded Rs 3 lakh. They abducted the complainant in their car and asked him to pay Rs 50,000. They dropped him back after a few hours and took Rs 35,000 from him.

The accused were booked for kidnapping and extortion.
