Elderly woman found murdered in Dhanori

Pune: A 68-year-old woman who stayed alone in Dhanori, was found murdered on Saturday night. Pune city police officials suspect insider's role after considering circumstantial evidences.

The deceased has been identified as Radha Madhavan Nair, a resident of Ambanagari society on Dhanori road. Her husband died few years back. Her daughter lives in Mumbai, while son resides in Pune separately.

According to police, on Saturday night after Vijayadashmi celebration, her daughter called around 8 pm but Nair was not responding. She informed her brother who came and opened the door with a spare key only to find her lying in a pool of blood. The deceased was attacked with sharp weapon on neck.

After being informed, sleuths from the local Vishrantwadi police station and Crime Branch rushed to the spot.

“Our investigation is still going on”, a senior police officer told Sakal Times.
