Finish Baner to Hinjawadi Phase Three Road work in next one month: Bapat

Pune: Guardian Minister Girish Bapat on Thursday directed the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to finish work of Baner to Hinjawadi Phase Three Road in one month. “This road along with Chande Nande Road should be open by April 2018,” Bapat insisted in the meeting that was organised with Industry Minister Subhash Desai and top officials of the industry department.

Bapat insisted that MIDC should start actual work of Chande-Nande Road in next one month. Therefore, Desai also assured that the tender process will be expedited treating this as a special case. Bapat had conducted a high-level meeting to discuss the pending issues of Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi, with top officials of industry ministry in presence of Desai.

District Collector Saurabh Rao, PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Kiran Gitte, officials of public works department as well as office-bearers from Hinjawadi Industries Association were present at the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that Baner to Hinjawadi Phase Three Road will be acquired as early as possible and tender of the road will be issued in next one month.  

Bapat asked Rao to initiate the procedure for strengthening and widening of the Chande-Nande Road. For the development of this road, the district collector is going to hold talks with Zilla Parishad authorities.

While directing to complete all roads heading towards Hinjawadi Phase-3 by April 2018, Bapat suggested to officials to conduct a joint visit to the areas along with the representative of HIA.

MIDC to work on solid waste management
An important decision of solid waste management to be handled by MIDC in Hinjawadi has also been announced by Desai in the meeting. Desai said, “The MIDC will be empowered to collect taxes in the residential area in MIDC jurisdiction and the agency will manage the solid waste in the area henceforth.”
