Pune: Finolex Cables donated Rs 50 lakh to Sakal India Foundation (SIF) which is nearing its diamond jubilee this year. SIF helps promising students to pursue their higher studies or carry out research in foreign countries by giving them scholarships.

Every year, SIF gives scholarships worth Rs 60,000 on no interest loan policy to the students. The foundation aims to increase the scholarship amount to Rs 1 lakh from 2019-20. The foundation had appealed the philanthropists from the society to contribute towards the foundation.

Finolex Cables responded to their appeal and donated Rs 50 lakh. The decision of making the donation was done in a meeting of the board of directors. The company is a leading manufacturer of cables needed for electricity distribution and communication.

REQUEST
 The SIF initiative has always garnered a positive response from the society. If philanthropists and society contribute wholeheartedly towards the foundation, then only, the foundation can award scholarships of huge amount.
