Fire at RTO, several documents burnt

Pune: A fire erupted at Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Wednesday morning. Several related documents were burnt. The firefighters were called and it took 10-15 minutes to douse the fire.

The fire broke out in a room on the first floor of the building. According to the information from the fire brigade around 20 per cent of documents were burnt including old furniture.

Vijay Bhilare, Station Duty officer, Raja Bahadur Mill Road, said, “We got a call at around 8.27 am and within 3-4 minutes we reached the spot. It took 10-15 minutes to douse the fire. The team of 12 members of firefighters were on the spot.”

Sanjay Raut, Deputy RTO informed that this was not major fire incident. There was no loss of vehicle registration related documents. We are finding the cause of the fire.”
