Five men held in Rs 3.11 lakh heist case

Pune: Sleuths from Yerawada police station arrested five men and detained their two minor accomplices for allegedly looting Rs 3.11 lakh cash from a trader’s employee on June 14.

Sudhakar Kshirsagar (37) had lodged an FIR in this regard. The police have arrested Akash Sakpal (20), Omkar Sonwane (20), Prajwal Kadam (19), Arjun Maske (19), all residents of Yerawada and Kunal Jadhav (19) of Kharadi. 

According to the police, Kshirsagar collected money from traders and he was going to Koregaon Park, when the accused persons intercepted him around 1.30 pm near Yerawada Gadital. They assaulted him and snatched away the bag containing cash and two mobile phones. 

Acting on tip-off, a team led by PSI Mangesh Bhange nabbed the accused who were sleeping at an under-construction building in Laxminagar locality in Yerawada.
