Flying squads for fair admission process

ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: To regulate the already delayed online Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for the First Year Junior College (FYJC), i.e. class XI, the Education Department has formed flying squads for each of the regions where the admissions are going on.

The flying squads under the Deputy Director of Education have been formed for Pune, Mumbai (MMR), Nagpur and Amravati regions.

The flying squads will also be responsible for controlling the quota admissions that take place in several colleges. Apart from the Deputy Directors, the squads would comprise any two members each from the CAP Committee at each division, a representative of the minority colleges and respective education officers (secondary).

The squads would ensure that the quota admissions which take place at the college-level are carried out in adherence with the rules.
