Four, including two kids, injured in cylinder blast

PUNE: Four persons, including two children, were injured in a gas cylinder blast inside a house in Nehru Nagar, Pimpri on Friday. Prima facie, the incident occurred due to leakage of gas.

The four persons were identified as Labla Singh (32), Sandip Singh (21), Durgesh Singh (12) and Shiva Singh (10). Both children sustained 65 per cent burn injuries whereas the adults received minor burns.

According to the police, the cylinder blast occurred at 9 am. It was a high intensity blast, which damaged the house. After the blast, locals reported it to the Tukaram Nagar fire brigade station, but managed to douse the fire by the time the fire brigade reached the spot. All injured persons were admitted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital.
