Govt making hollow promises, busy with propoganda: Sule

Sakal Times

Pune: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and MP Supriya Sule launched a scathing attack on the BJPgovernment and called them ‘Jumalebaj’ (one who indulges in making hollow promises) and ‘Jahiratbaaj’ (propagandist) and said it has failed in solving problems of the common man.

She was speaking at a press conference after her visit to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) headquarters to discuss pending projects with Municipal Commissioner Kunal Kumar.

Sule discussed the plan to provide civic amenities to the newly-merged villages. Leader of Opposition in PMC Chetan Tupe, corporator Sachin Dodke, Yuvraj Beldare, Rupali Chakankar, Shukracharya Wanjle,  Pravin Kamthe, Anita Ingle, Sudhir Kondhre, Suresh Gujar along with members of Gram Panchyat and Zilla Parishad of these villages were present.

Drawing attention to the slow pace of projects under Smart City, Sule said, “This government has made an announcement about the inclusion of Pune in Smart City Project. The government is busy in propaganda. But nothing has been achieved till date. Therefore, this government ‘Jumale ki Sarkar’.”

Stating that newly-merged villages in the PMC are deprived of several civic amenities, Sule said PMC administration has to do a lot of work to ease the problems of citizens. She added that for the first time, the civic body has not allocated any funds for merged villages. She demanded that government appoint a committee to study the problems of these areas and chalk out a proper plan.

Sule said, “The traffic problem of the city is getting worse day by day. There is no progress in land acquisition for the ring road. Waste management of the city is in a pathetic state.”
