ICAI Pune launches fruit seed sowing drive

Pune: The ICAI Pune, Western Indian Chartered Accountants Students Association (WICASA) chapter, in association with Kolte Patil Developers Ltd, launched a fruit seed sowing campaign on Wednesday.

Around 555 CA students from Pune, Mumbai and Latur, along with CA members, participated in the drive.

They sowed 99,999 fruit seeds in just five hours on the ARAI campus and in Vetal Tekdi area.

The campaign was led by CA Rajesh Agrawal, Chairman, Pune branch of the WICASA of ICAI, along with others.

He said, “I am delighted that the ICAI Pune has taken up such a wonderful initiative. I am happy that Puneites contributed wholeheartedly to this project.” The initiative aims to spread awareness about environment protection.

The campaign witnessed participation by people belonging to all age groups.

ICAI Pune WICASA aspires to declare July 19 as ‘World Fruit Seed Sowing Day’.

It also hopes to find a mention in Limca Book of Records with this drive.
