International board to be merged with State board

PUNE: The State government has decided to merge the Maharashtra International Education Board (MIEB) with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).

The decision was made at the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. The decision was made to ensure that students in all schools in the state will be able to get equal quality of education. The State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has been given the responsibility of formulating syllabus of international standard. However, it is not clear how the merger is going to take place. 

“The discussions are still going on and soon a plan of merger will be made,” an official said.
