Jehangir gets membership of Breast Centres Network

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: The Jehangir Breast Care Centre has been granted an affiliate membership of the Breast Centres Network by the European School of Oncology. It is the fourth breast care centre in India to be awarded this membership and first in Pune.

This will enable the centre to access journals, training, cases and studies conducted by other breast care units across the world. The data from the centres also have to be submitted every year for verification for the membership to continue.

Dr Anupama Mane, a breast surgeon at the Jehangir Breast Care Centre, said that they presented a case study in a conference in Milan and also shared statistics.

“The statistics showcase the success as the team has operated over 350 breast surgeries annually with 3,500 digital mammograms and over 600 biopsies a year and also manages over 150-170 new breast cancers every year,” said Mane.

Dr Shona Nag said that the breast care centre is a part of the wellness centre where women can get themselves checked or as a part of various health packages.
