Kumbh SPIC MACAY Music and Dance Series ends on February 24

PUNE: The Kumbh SPIC MACAY Classical Music and Dance series, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh will end on February 24. The series began on January 17 at Triveni Pandal near the Sangam in Prayag.

The series, conducted for a total of 26 days, had stalwarts like Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt Birju Maharaj, Vid Sonal Mansingh, Vidwan Vikku Vinayak Ram, Begum Parween Sultana, Pt Rajan Mishra and Pt Sajan Mishra, Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Dr N Rajam, Dr L Subramaniam, Vid Uma Sharma and Dr Prabha Atre.

The series also featured 13 Padma Shri Awardees, as well as 16 Senior Sangeet Natak Academy Awardees. Approximately, 240 artistes performed in the series, which is the biggest series held in one location by SPIC MACAY in its 42-year long history.

Students from all over the country were encouraged to come for this series with SPIC MACAY supporting their boarding and lodging in Prayagraj.
