Pune: Amidst the ongoing campaigning for the Lok Sabha election, Congress’s National Students Union of India (NSUI) and non-governmental organisation (NGO) Yuva Surajya Foundation have organised Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s open dialogue with students on April 5 in Hadapsar.

The Congress has declared that it is a non-political programme and Gandhi will not conduct any rally during his visit.

Speaking at a press conference, Vishwajeet Kadam, leader of Congress’ youth wing said, “It is non-political programme and purely an open question and answer session for students. It has been organised at Laxmi Lawns in Hadapsar at 10 am.”

“Congress President Rahul Gandhi will answer the questions raised by students. The programme will be live on Facebook. We have started registration of students and are anticipating around 5,000 students. At present, around 3,500 students have registered their names,” Kadam added.

Kadam further said, “It is a preplanned programme and Rahul Gandhi and close confidante and Chairman of the Overseas Indian National Congress will also take part in the programme. The duration of the programme will be one-and-half hours.”

Congress City Unit President Ramesh Bagwe said, “It is a one-day visit of Congress President Rahul Gandhi and he will meet some of the Congress leaders. However, he will not address any rally or take part in any election campaign right now.”
