LokSabha 2019: NCP’s Ajit Pawar calls first party workers’ meeting tomorrow

PUNE: After starting the election campaign of his son Parth in Maval, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar has decided to pay attention to Baramati and Shirur Lok Sabha constituencies. He has called a party leaders and workers’ meeting in Pune on Thursday. This would be the  first NCP workers’ meeting in Pune after announcement of Lok Sabha polls. 

While speaking to Sakal Times, Chetan Tupe, NCP City Unit President said, “The Congress and NCP have an alliance. NCP senior party leaders have already given workers instruction to participate in the election campaign, where the Congress has fielded  its candidates. At present, Congress hasn’t announced the names of candidates for the Pune Lok Sabha seat.”

He said, “In Pune city, Hadapsar area has come in Shirur Lok Sabha constituency and Katraj area under Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. So, Ajit Pawar decided to conduct a meeting of three Lok Sabha constituencies - Pune, Shirur and Baramati.” 

NCP has declared the first list of Lok Sabha constituency of Maharashtra. 

Supriya Sule, daughter of NCP Chief Sharad Pawar is contesting the election from Baramati. In Maval, Parth Pawar is standing for election.  In Shirur, NCP gave the opportunity to Dr Amol Kolhe.
