PUNE: Many polling booths this time are visually challenged-friendly, as most of the booths had Braille-enabled ballot papers to ensure wider participation of voters in the Lok Sabha elections. 

This system was noticed at NCL School in Pashan. A ward at a polling booth had Braille-enabled ballot papers and the Braille-enabled strip where the candidates’ details were stuck on the top of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).

According to the election officer of the NCL, these systems are only kept at polling booths where there are disabled voters. 

The voter first reads the Braille-enabled ballot paper in which information of how to vote and who all the candidates are given. Then the voter goes to the ballot and votes.
