Man arrested for assaulting daughter

PUNE: Officials of the Hinjawadi police station have lodged a case against a 30-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting  his five-year-old daughter.

According to the Hinjawadi police, the accused is a resident of Bavdhan and the incident came to light when the complainant who is the wife of the accused had taken the victim to a doctor.

The police said the doctor told the complainant that the victim was assaulted sexually. The complainant then took the victim into confidence and she revealed to her mother about the act. The complainant then caught the accused red handed. The accused threatened to murder the complainant if she revealed the incident to others. The complainant rushed to Hinjawadi police and lodged a case.

Police Sub-Inspector Kavita Rupnar is investigating the case. The accused was arrested by the Hinjawadi police on Friday. The accused was produced in court and sent in police custody till November 12.
