Man arrested for attempting to throw ink on Ekbote in court

Pune: A history sheeter has been arrested by Shivajinagar police for attempting to throw black ink on Samast Hindu Aghadi leader Milind Ekbote in the court premises on Monday.

The incident occurred when Ekbote, who was arrested by Pune police for his alleged role in Koregaon-Bhima riots, was in court for a hearing. Ekbote has been remanded to police custody till March 21. The arrested youth has been identified as Sanjay Waghmare (40), a resident of Indra Nagar in Bibwewadi. Wagmare is the President of a relatively unknown organisation Ganimi Kawa Yuva Sewa Sangh.

Waghmare has various criminal cases including murder against him in the past. He was booked by Shivajinagar police for the charges under murder in 2010. He also has a case of cheating registered against him at Bibwewadi police station.
