Man booked for sexually harassing woman colleague

PUNE: A senior officer of a multinational company (MNC) engaged in the development of connectivity products has been booked by Pune city police for allegedly sexually harassing his junior.

The 40-year-old woman has lodged an FIR against the accused, Ashish Soni, who works as division manager with the company located in Bund Garden area.

As per the FIR, he used to touch her inappropriately under the pretext of telling her about work, send obscene messages and harassed her by often calling on her phone. The incident took place between July 2016 till now. 

Based on her complaint, the airport police station has booked Soni for offence under section 354a (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code.
