Man booked for stealing confidential data of company

Pune: A senior consultant working with a software company has been booked for allegedly stealing confidential data of the company and causing a loss of about Rs 50 lakh.

Based on a complaint from Sahil Surwase of the company based in Kalyani Nagar, Yerwada police station has booked the accused Kamesh Viresh Gaud of Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh. He had worked with the company between 2011 and 2014 and also between 2016 and August 2017. He had also sent emails to the company customers pretending that the emails were from the company.

Police have booked him for offences under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act.
