Pune: A 27-year-old man was arrested by the Talegaon MIDC police for allegedly killing his mother on Wednesday night in Indori village near Talegaon.

The accused, Pramod Yashwant Shinde, was arrested after the incident. According to the Talegaon MIDC police, Pramod’s neighbours informed them about the incident on Thursday.

When the police reached the spot, they found Pramod’s mother Chintabai (65) dead.

Police Sub-inspector Vikram Pasalkar, who is investigating the case, said that Pramod got married a year ago and was working in a private company. “On Wednesday night, when Pramod reached his home, there was an argument between him and his mother. Following this, Pramod took a pillow and smothered his mother, which led to her death,” added Pasalkar.

The police suspect Pramod was in an inebriated condition when he killed his mother. The complaint was lodged by Pramod’s younger brother.
Pramod stayed with his wife, mother and younger brother.
