Mercury rise to persist till Mar 31

PUNE: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rising temperature in Maharashtra, which ranges from 38 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius is likely to continue till March 31. 

As a result of this, the highest maximum temperature recorded in Maharashtra was at 42.3 degrees Celsius in Ahmednagar.

On Thursday, Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 39.7 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. The IMD predicted that the high fluctuation in day and night temperatures will continue in the month of April as well.

Nashik reported the lowest temperature of 18.4 degrees Celsius in the State. Across Maharashtra, various cities have reported an increase in temperature for the past few days. As per the IMD, the condition may continue in the coming days.

IMD has reported that central Maharashtra, parts of Vidarbha may experience rainfall in isolated pockets till March 31.

NATIONAL SCENARIO
On Thursday, the lowest minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius was recorded in the plains at Rewa, in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted thunderstorm accompanied with squall and lightning till April 1 at isolated places likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim. 

A thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds and lightning at isolated places is likely over the eastern state of Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is also predicted during the same time.
