Monsoon advances into Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra

PUNE: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday noted that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, Konkan, north interior Karnataka, parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

Cumulative rainfall recorded on Tuesday as reported by 337 stations in the plains is 288.7 centimetres. Normal rainfall expected for these 337 stations is 238.6 centimetres.  The amount of rainfall recorded across the country at Honavar, Shillong, Chanderpur and Parbhani was five cm each whereas Ramagundam and Kannur recorded four cm rainfall. Goa, Pune, Karwar, Titlagarh and Jharsiguda recorded three cm rainfall.
