Motorcycle damaged as man refuses to pay donation

PUNE: Four persons have been arrested by Bharati Vidyapeeth police for allegedly damaging bike of a man who had refused to give donations for Dahi Handi celebrations. Police said that the incident took place around 1.30 am on Saturday. 

Prafulla Thorat (20), a resident of Prithviraj Apartment in Ambegaon Khurd, has lodged an FIR against the accused persons who were caught loitering around the building on CCTV camera. 

According to police, the accused persons had approached Thorat seeking a contribution of Rs 501. But Thorat refused to give that much amount and was ready to donate Rs 51. 

Police said that the accused burnt Thorat’s bike and some portion of the parking area was also damaged. 

Police have identified the arrested accused as Datta Shinde, Omkar Kamable, Dutta Kadam and Sumit Ahivale, all residents of Sachhai Mata, Katraj.
