MyCollegeCutoff.com portal to help students in search for eligible colleges

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: To enable students to easily track colleges for admissions, a city-based ed-tech startup has launched a portal called
‘MyCollegeCutoff.com’.

Nurture Merit Private Limited announced the launch of ‘MyCollegeCutOff.com’, a free portal for students to search colleges as per their cut-off marks on Wednesday. Here, students aspiring to apply to colleges for higher education can check the cut-off lists of various colleges. This allows the students to match their marks to know the eligibility for admissions in the respective colleges.

Director of the start-up Anish Kulkarni, who is also lead counsellor, said, “The portal has a database of engineering, pharmacy and architecture colleges in the State. It also allows all-India search for MBBS, BDS colleges and institutions that consider Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) scores, like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT), IIIT and other government-funded colleges.” “Students across India can use the portal to look for engineering, pharmacy and architecture colleges in Maharashtra through the all India quota as well,” added Kulkarni.

Nurture Merit Private Limited Director Omkar Sapre said, “The number of students clearing entrance exams is always more than the number of seats available. Yet, many seats across colleges remain vacant every year. This essentially means that many eligible students, who have cleared the entrance exams, are not able to get admission. The prime reason is the lack of knowledge about colleges where students are eligible to get admission to.”

“MyCollegeCutOff.com pulls data from the complicated government records and makes it available in an easy and commonly understandable format. This ensures that no eligible college is missed and all colleges’ data is available to the students with no manipulation, as is commonly seen,” added Sapre.
