Mysuru-Udaipur Palace Queen Humsafar Express to halt in Pune

Pune: Puneites with wanderlust have yet another reason to travel to two top destinations in the country. The railways have introduced a Humsafar Express connecting Udaipur and Mysuru via Pune.

The train will run through Mandya, Bengaluru, Davangere, Hubballi, Belagavi, Pune, Kalyan, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam and Chittorgarh. It will pass through five states, ie Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the inaugural Mysuru-Udaipur Palace Queen Weekly Humsafar Express on February 19 from Mysuru railway station.

The train will run from February 26 from Udaipur and on March 1 from Mysuru. Train number 19667 Udaipur City-Mysuru Palace Queen Hamsafar Express will depart from Udaipur every Monday at 9 pm and will reach Pune at 4.55 pm the next day. It will reach the Mysuru station at 4.25 pm on every Wednesday.

Similarly, train number 19668 Udaipur City-Mysuru Palace Queen Hamsafar Express will depart Mysuru at 10 am on every Friday and will arrive at the Pune Junction at 8.10 am the next day and Udaipur City station at 4.55 am on Saturday.

"This train will provide a unique travel experience to passengers on board as it will have state-of-the-art facilities, including GPS-controlled, LED display in coaches for alerting passengers on train's speed, stoppages and other information," said Manoj Kumar Jhawar, Public Relations Officer of the Pune railway division.

Under the former railway minister Suresh Prabhu, each coach of Humsafar Express got upgradation at the cost of Rs 20 lakh.

The train has been built, keeping in mind all passenger comforts, including comfortable side berth seats, LED display, CCTV cameras, USB charging points, among many other facilities.
