Nature comes to life in works of child artists

ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: Giving way to expressions, students from Maharashtra and Goa enthusiastically participated in the PN Gadgil & Sons Limited presented and powered by Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Society, Sakal Drawing Competition 2020 which took place on Sunday.

The beautiful works of art made by the students at the contest showed their imagination and creativity. Despite it being a holiday, overwhelming response by the students and their family showed how deeply Sakal has established an emotional bond with them.  Sakal has been organising this competition for last 34 years. Many past winners were seen participating in the competition. There was huge participation in rural areas, special children and ashramshala students.

Majority of the drawings were based on ‘Nature,’ subtly giving the message of Save Environment, Save Mother Earth and others. Students participated in the competition through special coupons and paying online fee in Maharashtra and Goa. Students of standard 1 to 10 participated in the competition.

STUDENTS’ CHOICES
Students of Std VII and X preferred drawing space mission, geometrical designs and patterns while the younger children stuck to nature drawings. Although, the topic for all age groups was different, students liked to choose science and nature.
