NCP candidate Kadam files nomination

ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) candidate Ashwini Kadam filed her nomination papers in Parvati Assembly constituency on Friday morning following a grand rally.

Kadam would be contesting the election against Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) three-time MLA Madhuri Misal. Interestingly, Kadam has been a three-time corporator in the area.

“There are several issues in the constituency that need to be paid serious attention. Since I am local, I am well-versed with the problems in the area. The constituency is lagging behind as far as development works are concerned,” Kadam stated.

Congress senior leader and five-time corporator Aba Bagul was upset with Kadam’s nomination and stated that voters wanted him as their representative.

Reacting, Kadam said she respects Bagul like her father. “I am sure the Congress and NCP leaders would convince him to withdraw,” she added.

On Thursday,  AAP’s  Sandeep Sonawane filed nomination papers in the Parvati Assembly Constituency by taking a bus ride from Upper Indiranagar to Sanas Sports Ground. “I want people to vote for me as a representative who will always be a part of their lives. I will try to solve the issues of public transport. In fact, I will myself use public transport,” Sonawane said.
