Pune: Bus commuters won’t have to wait for long hours for Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited’s (PMPML) buses as they will get the bus timings and locations on their respective smartphones.

The PMPML had launched a mobile application ‘pmp e connect’ on Wednesday. PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Tukaram Mundhe launched the app and briefed the media about its usage and functions.
Mundhe said that once the travellers download the app, they will be able to get the bus timings and their locations.

The citizens will also get the alarm on their mobile phones before two minutes of the arrival of the bus.

All buses have GPRS system which will help to identify the location of the bus.They can also get the bus frequency on the route as well a detailed timetable which will help them to leave from office or home to catch their bus on time. Citizens can also file seven types of grievances through the application. It is mandatory for officers to attend to these complaints. If they don’t act on the complaints, they will have to face action, said Mundhe.
