NGO distributes uniforms to underprivileged children

PUNE: Disha Institute, an NGO working in the field of education for past two decades distributed uniforms to underprivileged children recently at Ubale Nagar, Wagholi. 

It is a dream of every parent that their child should study in English medium schools despite class, economic conditions and from which parts of the country they come from and Disha Institute helps their dreams come true. The children were very excited who had come along with their parents to collect the uniforms. 

The chief guest was social activist Shashikant Kulkarni. Bank Manager Raju Deshmukh and Ghodke attended the function. 

55 underprivileged children from the community in the Disha educational project were present with their parents where uniforms were distributed and also parents were informed about various schemes.  

During the programme, Kulkarni said, “Empowerment through financial upliftment is must if the family wants to be stable.” He also assured financial help to women if they were willing to start their own business.

Also, Deshmukh cleared the doubts about the banking system and participated in an interactive session with those present.  

The welcome speech was made by Pournima Gadiya, social worker and founder of Disha Institute.
