PUNE: The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Nitin Gadkari, announced that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will make six lane highway near the Shivshrushti project. Besides that, they will also construct a flyover by spending Rs 135 crore. 

A cheque of Rs 5 crore was handed over to historian Babasaheb Purandare for Shivshrushti project located at Ambegaon village. The amount was given from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) NPTC. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also present at the function.  Gadkari said, “Shivshrushti, which is located on Katraj highway, will be widened to six lanes and we will give Rs 116 crore for that. NHAI will also construct service roads and a pedestrian way.”

Shivshrushti project is located at Katraj-Ambegaon Budruk and is spread on a 21 acre land. Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan is the construction project. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 302 crore. The State government has included the project in their mega project initiative and promised to give financial assistance through Tourist and Development Department. Around 40 per cent work has been completed by spending Rs 42 crore till date.

The Trust showed a four-minute presentation of Shivshrusti to Gadkari and Fadnavis. Mayor Mukta Tilak, Member of Parliament (MP) Anil Shirole, Revenue Minister of Maharashtra Chandrakant Patil and other dignitaries were present at the function.
