One killed, 26 injured as Shivshani plunges into gorge

PUNE: One passenger was killed and 25 others were injured when an AC Shivshahi bus carrying around 40 passengers plunged into a 25-ft gorge at Shindewadi, taluka Bhor on Monday. 

The passengers boarded the bus (MH 47Y 298) from Swargate ST stand and was travelling to Sangli.

As per details provided by local authorities, the driver had lost the control of the vehicle after crossing the Katraj Ghat section. According to the Rajgad.

According to the police, the bus left the Swargate bus stand with 40 passengers. Around 1.30 pm, it crossed the Katraj tunnel and moved towards Shindewadi. The driver lost his control and the bus plunged into the 25 gorge at Shindewadi."

The local residents rushed to the spot and called the police. Police and local resident rescued the passengers. The Rajgad police, Pune police and a team of fire briagde were at the spot.
