PUNE: Taking a stern objection to washing dirty linen in public, senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar warned the elected representatives that the criticism of party in the public fora will not be tolerated. He was speaking at the party meeting held in Market Yard area here on Tuesday.
On Monday, NCP’s Kondhwa corporator Arati Babar had expressed her disappointment against the local leaders and had said that if things do not improve, she will be forced to take the next step. To avoid such embarrassing episodes in future, Ajit Pawar announced that party criticism in open fora will not be tolerated. Pawar assured that appropriate action will be taken if there is truth in the allegations.
Ajit Pawar was speaking at a party meeting in Pune in the backdrop of the upcoming concluding event of party’s ‘Halla Bol’ agitation in the city. He took a review of preparations ahead of the massive party rally on Tuesday. Commenting on Babar’s remarks, he said, “Party will not tolerate criticism in open fora, if anyone feels there is an injustice, the party will address it, but no one has right to talk against the party in a public forum.”
Corporator Babar had openly criticised the party in General Body meeting, saying that she was fed up with the party’s activities. Babar had claimed that she was compelled to resign from Woman and Child Welfare Committee membership. She had also announced that if the party leaders fail to act on this, she would have no choice but to take the next step.
BHUJBAL TO BE PRESENT AT RALLY
- Announcing that Chhagan Bhujbal will participate in the party’s rally on June 10, Pawar said, “I met Chhagan Bhujbal. He will address the party rally to be held on June 10.” Earlier, Pawar had refused to comment on the participation of Chhagan Bhujbal. But now, Pawar has cleared all doubts regarding the OBC leader’s participation in the rally,
- Bhujbal was in jail since March 2016. He was granted bail on May 4 by the Mumbai High Court after the court considered his old age and deteriorating health. Surprisingly, Pankaj Bhujbal, son of Chhagan Bhujbal, met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai on Wednesday. With this political development, NCP leaders had become cautious and were avoiding commenting on Bhujbal.
