Pune: Patients and their relatives at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cantonment General Hospital (SVPCGH) will not have to worry about their breakfast and lunch from now on.

City-based Prerna Seva Trust in association with Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) will be providing breakfast and tea for free to more than 200 patients of the hospital.

Priyanka Shrigiri, Vice President of PCB said most patients in the hospital come from marginal background so they are being helped initially by providing breakfast.

She said, “This service started on December 1 in the hospital and on the inaugural day the volunteers of the trust along with elected ward members of the Cantonment provided breakfast and tea to more than 200 patients and their relatives in the hospital.”

“We will be keeping a proposal in the upcoming board meeting that the trust, in association with the Cantonment should start providing breakfast, lunch and dinner to the patients and relatives for free,” Shrigiri added.
