PCMC sanctions Rs 538 crore funds for 162 schemes

PIMPRI: The Standing Committee of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Friday sanctioned Rs 538.99 crore for 162 proposals. Of these, Rs 142 crore were sanctioned for 14 proposals placed before the committee at the eleventh hour. Of these, Rs 7.25 crore has been sanctioned for developing a ‘Smart’ link road from Chapekar Chowk to Moraya Hospital in Chinchwadgaon as per Urban Street Design.

Friday’s Standing Committee meeting was the last meeting under the chairmanship of Vilas Madigeri. The meeting continued till 9.30 pm.

The Standing Committee also sanctioned Rs 11.95 crore for developing a link road from Moraya Hospital to Yashopuram Flyover in Chinchwadgaon as per Urban Street Design.

The Standing Committee also sanctioned funds for projects including a laser show at the Bird Valley Park in Sambhaji Nagar, the extension of a second floor at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, a neo-natal department and renovation of doctors’ residences at the hospital and concretisation of streets in different parts of the city.
