Pharmacist held for stealing masks

Pune: A pharmacist of a prominent hospital in the city was arrested for allegedly stealing around 200 masks along with medicines and injections from the hospital pharmacy. There is a surge in the demand for the masks and hand sanitisers in the backdrop of outbreak of coronavirus.

Based on a complaint from the hospital authorities, Koregaon Park police arrested the accused Suyash Pandhare (28).

According to police, the incident came to light on Saturday morning during an inventory check. The accused allegedly stole two boxes of masks and other medicines, totally worth Rs 35,000. 

Police Sub-inspector Shrikant Gurav, who is investigating the case, said, “The accused was planning to sell the masks and medicines outside.”
