PIL filed against Katraj-Kondhwa rd tender process

Sakal Times

Pune: The tender process of much-talked-about Katraj-Kondhwa road is once again caught in trouble as a public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in Mumbai High Court against PMC by Narendra Khandelwal.

The PIL was filed on behalf of Congress leader in PMC Arvind Shinde. So, the fate of the work of this 3.5 km road now depends upon the decision of the HC.

The PMC General Body has approved the proposal for widening the 3.7 km road connecting Rajas Society to Khadi Machine. But the tender documents mentioned this distance as 3.5 km.

Thus, the opposition parties are raising questions about why the distance of road has been reduced by 200 metres.

Shinde and Shiv Sena Corporator Bala Oswal alleged that as the administration is keeping the General Body in the dark, there are possibilities of losses of crores to the PMC.

Therefore, this tender needs to be scrapped and PMC must float tenders again for the project.  Shinde has approached the HC through Narendra Khandelwal.
